How to choose a lift table?

Feb 03,2023
A lift table is a machine that raises or lowers objects, providing a stable work surface. It is a common tool in manufacturing and industrial settings. It is an excellent way to reduce strain and the risk of accidents when working on heavy loads.

Lifting tables are available in several configurations and can be used with hand cranks or fully electronic devices. They are a great alternative to cranes, manipulators, and hoists for lifting heavy objects.
Size and capacity: The minimum and maximum load capacities are a key feature when choosing a lift table. Ideally, you should pick one that is the right size for the largest item you plan to handle with it, or slightly larger.
Tilt and turn: Many tables include a tilt function, which allows you to lift goods in an angle to give you easy access or to roll the product off the platform. A dead-man's switch controls this function, and the tilting and turning can be integrated in a hand controller that is also used for lifting and lowering.
Truck handling chassis: A truck handling chassis enables you to move your lift table with a pallet truck or a forklift. You can even customise the height of your chassis.
Safety requirements: A good quality lifting table should be built to the latest European standard EN 1570: 1998 + A2: 2009. This is a Type C standard and conforms with machinery directive 2006/42/EC.
