Chu Weitong: National Model Worker Awarded

Apr 29,2025

As International Labor Day neared, Beijing hosted celebrations for the 100th Anniversary of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions and the National Model Workers Commendation Ceremony. Chu Weitong, a forklift quality inspector from XILIN, received the "National Model Worker" title, displaying the pioneering spirit of modern industrial workers.

Chu Weitong, a quality inspector on the forklift line, has also earned the "National May 1st Labor Medal," "Zhejiang Provincial Model Worker," "Zhejiang Craftsman," and other honors.

Rigorous and focused on quality, Chu has spent three decades on the workshop frontline. Using his eyes, ears, and hands daily to detect faults, he consistently repairs over 100 units monthly, averaging nearly two hours per unit, with a perfect factory pass rate.

Daring breakthroughs and pursuit of excellence define Chu's work ethic. Despite high temperatures and constant noise, he views his work as sacred. His contributions include overcoming the charger power cord improvement project across five major vehicle models, reducing costs by 16% and failure rates by 21%.

Adapting and persevering, Chu tackled the gearbox case rust prevention project, resolving the laborious oil gun spraying issue and its occupational health risks. His efforts extended parts' rust prevention period by half a month and halved rust preventive oil usage.

Chu views this honor as both a privilege and a responsibility, motivating him to excel and inspire innovation among colleagues. He thanks the company for providing a platform for frontline workers to realize their potential.

Chu Weitong's journey highlights XILIN’s commitment to talent development. A company-wide movement to "Learn the Spirit of Model Workers and Strive for Pioneer Status" has emerged. Through lectures, mentorship, skills competitions, and more, a cycle of benchmark setting and surpassing has been established.

XILIN will continue to honor labor, promote craftsmanship and model worker spirits, cultivate talent, and ensure the "model worker and craftsmanship gene" is passed down, enabling more employees to fulfill their potential.
